Who are we
Fantasy Character Appearances - Townsville is owned by Angela - our main character performer. We also act as an agency for other character performers. We find acting/singing/dancing/modelling jobs for performers in Townsville and in surrounding towns! We generally have around 10 performers we contract at any time, and while they are subcontractors and not our employees, we still ensure they have all the training and resources to portray their characters perfectly! Generally, when you book a character, we work to find a performer who can do the job for you. You aren't paying a business - you're paying an individual artist!

We provide character appearances for children's parties, photo shoots, community events, charity events, and much more. We are the leading character appearance business in Townsville, providing the most realistic, authentic and accurate character appearances you'll find in Townsville and North Queensland. Why Choose Us
We are the largest character appearance business in the North Queensland region, with around 10 performers and over 60 characters to choose from. Plus, if we don’t have a character you want, let us know and we’ll see if we can make it in time! We have done over 600 parties and events. We offer a range of packages but can also cater to whatever type of event you’re having and to whatever you’d like from our characters!

We provide the most accurate and realistic character experiences in this region. Our costumes are generally hand made in order to ensure quality and accuracy down to every little detail. Our performers wear high quality lace front wigs that are glued to their heads so their hairlines look extremely realistic. They change their voice and movement characteristics to suit each character and they remain in character for the entirety of their appearances in order to ensure all children fully believe they are the real deal!

Our performers are trained actors, singers and dancers, some have been trained by the Disney theme parks and some are even parents and registered teachers! Many of our performers hold valid blue cards, first aid and CPR certificates, and have had extensive police checks.
We are an ABN registered and liability insured business.
Our purpose
Our aim and purpose is to provide the best and cheapest service possible. This means we provide services at cost price, and as such, Fantasy Character Appearances - Townsville / it's owner does not make a profit.
For example, a general character appearance at an event costs the customer $50 for an hour, 100% of that money is paid to the contracted performer providing the service. This compensates them for the time spent working at the event, travelling to and from the event, and preparing for the event (applying makeup/wigs/etc.). For a Party Appearance, $60 is charged to the customer, $50 is paid to the performer, and $10 is used to cover the cost of the supplies for the party (gift, glitter tattoos, etc.) The owner is paid the same way as any other contracted performer; by providing services.
Most of the time, our prices do not completely cover the cost of our services, other times there is a surplus. In the latter instance, any additional money is used to recover costs, purchase additional supplies, or clean and repair our costumes/wigs/etc. This maintains our non-for profit purpose.
